Russian village as it is..

Ychoz is a little village, located on the outskirts of the Novosibirsk city. On Saturday morning I had a little walk through Ychoz and decided to shoot some pics. The weather was lovely, the day was sunny, huge piles of snow were melting. Time flies quickly and it is already 2014, but I must say the roads in this little village are the same as they were 50 years ago..

Midnight walk in frozen Novosibirsk city

The period of time from December 31st  till about January 9th is  very special in Russia. It is the time when the whole country celebrates the New Year.  During this time pretty much everyone has days off (except police and ambulance and people who work in the shopping malls and places like that).  The most lucky folks go to some warm places to spend this wonderful holiday, who are less lucky they spend it in their hometowns. In my case it is Novosibirsk

Winter, Novosibirsk

My summer trip to the Altai Mountains, Russia

This summer I had a wonderful four day trip to the Altai Mountains.
Though originally I am from Novosibirsk ( it is about 8 hour drive to the Altai) but I have never been to Altai mountains.  It was first time and I was pleasantly surprised. If you travel to Altai by car you should not worry about the road, it is safe, and in pretty good condition.
